A New Season Begins

After a brief break this past week, we are excited to announce the official start of the new 2024-2025 season at the RA Tennis Academy! Today marks the beginning of what promises to be an incredible journey filled with growth, excitement, and plenty of tennis. Whether you're a long-time member of the academy or joining us for the first time, we’re thrilled to welcome everyone back to the courts.

The summer has been an outstanding season for us at the RA Tennis Academy, packed with thrilling individual and group sessions that brought players together from all skill levels and ages. We’re proud to report that the Academy has grown by 56% in the last six months - a testament to the dedication of our players, coaches, and supportive community. This growth has energized us and is driving the many exciting plans we have for the upcoming months.

Reflecting on a Successful Summer

As we look back on the summer season, we can’t help but feel grateful for the incredible experiences shared both on and off the court. Our individual sessions were a great success, with players benefiting from focused one-on-one time to sharpen their techniques and boost their confidence. Group sessions brought even more energy to the courts, fostering a sense of teamwork, competition, and fun.

We also saw new faces join the Academy while wishing others well as they moved on to new ventures. It's always bittersweet to say goodbye, but the revolving door of players has added to the diversity of our community, bringing fresh enthusiasm and spirit into the fold. Whether it was a child holding a racket for the first time or a seasoned competitor honing their skills, this summer proved that tennis truly is a sport for everyone.

As we kick off the 2024-2025 season, we also want to share that one of our trainers has recently decided to pursue new opportunities outside of the RA Tennis Academy. While we appreciate the time and effort they put into the Academy, we believe their departure opens up new possibilities for growth and improvement, and so we respect their decision to move on and are excited to continue building a positive, dynamic environment for all our players as we seek out new talent to support our new endeavors.

New Season, New Opportunities

As we dive into the new season, we have so many exciting things planned for our Academy members. We’ve worked hard to design a schedule that offers something for every tennis enthusiast, whether you're aiming for competitive success or simply want to enjoy the game recreationally.

One of the most thrilling additions to the 2024-2025 season will be the introduction of a league system for our different age groups. This new format will provide players the opportunity to compete in a structured environment while developing their skills in a fun, engaging way. Friendly competition fosters growth, and we’re excited to see our players push themselves to new heights.

In addition to the league, we’ll be hosting both internal and official tournaments throughout the year. These tournaments will provide everyone the chance to test their mettle, gain match experience, and celebrate the camaraderie that makes our Academy so special. Whether you're a beginner or an advanced player, these events will cater to all skill levels and add an extra layer of excitement to our already action-packed schedule.

We’re also bringing back some of our community's favorite activities, like our Fun Fridays & relax. These laid-back sessions are designed to give players a chance to unwind, socialize, and enjoy the game in a relaxed environment. We’ll also be organizing community events like grilling days, where members can come together off the court to share great food, stories, and laughs. The RA Tennis Academy isn’t just a place to train - it’s a community of like-minded people who love the sport and enjoy spending time together.

Preparing for the RA Open

Another exciting development this season is the preparation for the second edition of the RA Open. After the success of this pas year’s event, we’re eager to take things up a notch and make this coming year’s tournament even bigger and better. The RA Open is a fantastic opportunity for our players to showcase their skills and compete at a high level. This event will be one of the highlights of the season, and we can’t wait to see who will rise to the occasion and claim victory in 2025!

Expanded Schedule and New Offerings

To accommodate the growing interest in our programs, we’ve expanded the Academy's operating hours. From now on, the RA Tennis Academy will be open from 16:00 to 20:00, offering a wider range of sessions to meet the needs of our diverse membership. From mini tennis for the little ones to competitive training for our most dedicated players, we’ve ensured there’s something for everyone in this extended schedule.

We’re also excited to announce the return of our popular Mini Tennis program and the dedicated Girls Group, both of which took a break over the summer. These programs offer tailored instruction for younger players and girls, creating a supportive and encouraging environment where they can grow their skills and develop a love for the game.

In addition to our traditional tennis sessions, we’re introducing a brand-new fitness and agility class for those looking to enhance their overall athleticism. This optional class is available to all Academy members and is a great way to build endurance, strength, and speed - essential skills for any tennis player. By incorporating fitness training into our program, we hope to help our members become well-rounded athletes, both on and off the court.

No Price Changes – Tennis for Everyone!

One of the core values of the RA Tennis Academy is accessibility, and we’re proud to say that despite all the exciting new additions to our program, our pricing remains unchanged. We believe tennis should be available to everyone, regardless of their financial situation, and our affordable rates reflect that commitment. Whether you're just starting out or you're a seasoned player, you’ll find that our programs offer exceptional value for your investment.

Our timetable has been carefully structured to accommodate players of all ages and levels, including specialized sessions for kids, adults, women’s groups, and competitive players. No matter your age or experience level, there’s a place for you at the RA Tennis Academy.

A Week After Wimbledon

The thrill of Wimbledon lingers long after the final ball has been struck, and for us at the RA Tennis Academy in Cala Millor, this year's Wimbledon season extended its excitement well into August. With our head coach Rosa - our ex-professional tennis player - representing Spain in the seniors tournament, it was a week of both challenges and exhilarating success on and off the court. Not only was it a proud moment for Rosa and her team in London, but it was also an intensely busy week back at the academy, where our hands were full with enthusiastic players, despite the holiday season.

Let’s take a deeper look into the week following Wimbledon, celebrating Rosa’s outstanding performance and highlighting the activities at RA Tennis Academy.

Rosa’s Remarkable Run in London

From August 5th to 9th, Rosa represented Spain in the seniors’ tournament in London. Rosa, our talented head coach, has always been more than just a coach; her experience and mental ability as a professional tennis player gives her a unique perspective on the game that she shares with our academy’s players. In London, she demonstrated once again why she’s an inspiration both on and off the court.

Rosa’s journey in the tournament was nothing short of incredible. The Spanish team battled through tough matches, facing fierce opponents and staging impressive comebacks. One of the most memorable moments was in Rosa’s first match, where she found herself down 5-2 in the final set. For many, this would have been a near-impossible challenge. But Rosa showed the tenacity and mental strength that defines a champion. In a thrilling turnaround, she clawed her way back, point by point, eventually securing a hard-fought victory.

Her efforts, along with those of her teammates, propelled the Spanish team to the semi-finals - a significant achievement in such a competitive field. Although the journey ended at the semi-finals, the experience was a testament to the perseverance, skill, and sportsmanship that Rosa has always embodied. It was a great week in London for Rosa and her colleagues, and the success of her team is a story we’ll be sharing with the academy’s players for a long time.

Back at RA Tennis Academy: A Week of Energy and Enthusiasm

While Rosa was competing in London, the RA Tennis Academy was buzzing with activity. Despite it being vacation season, and many of our staff away, the courts were packed. Our academy has always been a place of energy and development, and last week was no exception.

With players of all ages flocking to our courts, we were reminded that tennis is more than just a sport - it's a passion that drives people to improve, even during their holidays. The busy week stretched our resources, but our dedicated team rose to the challenge, ensuring that everyone had the opportunity to play, learn, and grow.

We welcomed an incredible number of players to the academy during this time, from eager beginners to advanced competitors looking to fine-tune their skills. The influx of students - combined with the absence of some of our staff - meant long hours and intense days, but it was a joy to work with such motivated individuals. Seeing the dedication and improvement of our students is what keeps us going, and last week was a perfect reminder of why we do what we do.

The Tennis Academy: Developing Players of All Levels

At RA Tennis Academy, we pride ourselves on offering personalized coaching that caters to all levels of players, whether they are children just starting their journey in tennis or adults looking to refine their technique. The post-Wimbledon buzz has brought even more players into our courts, eager to train after being inspired by the legendary tournament.

For our younger players, we emphasized the importance of strong fundamentals, focusing on footwork, racket control, and the mental aspects of the game. Wimbledon serves as a great teaching tool, as we encourage our players to watch and learn from the pros. Watching Rosa compete and succeed on the international stage only served to reinforce the importance of discipline and resilience.

Meanwhile, our adult players benefitted from more advanced strategy sessions, working on match tactics, stamina, and mental toughness. Rosa’s comeback victory in London served as a focal point in our lessons on mental fortitude. We teach our players to stay calm under pressure, focus on the process, and never give up - lessons that Rosa embodies and that can make all the difference in a match.

It’s been incredibly rewarding to watch our players embrace these lessons and apply them to their own games. While tennis at the academy continues to be demanding, it’s clear that everyone is working toward their goals with unwavering commitment.

Preparing for the Future: The Next Two Weeks at the Academy

As we look ahead to the next two weeks, we’re eager to continue building on the momentum from Wimbledon and Rosa’s incredible performance in London. The academy’s schedule is packed with training sessions, match play, and a range of specialized workshops designed to further our players’ development. Even though some of our staff are still on vacation, the academy remains fully operational, and we’re excited to see what the coming weeks will bring.

We’re also gearing up for a series of mini-tournaments, which will give our players the chance to test their skills in a competitive environment. These tournaments are a great way for players to gain experience, learn from their mistakes, and celebrate their victories, much like what Rosa did during her week in London. The focus will be on fostering a love for competition, as well as teaching players how to handle both winning and losing with grace and dignity.

The buzz and excitement at the academy are palpable, and we can’t wait to see the progress our players will make in the coming weeks. With Wimbledon still fresh in everyone’s minds, the enthusiasm for tennis is at an all-time high, and we’re honored to be a part of our players’ journeys.

Conclusion: A Time for Reflection and Engagement

The week following Wimbledon has been one of celebration, hard work, and growth here at RA Tennis Academy. From Rosa’s impressive run in the seniors’ tournament in London to the incredible dedication of our players back home, it’s clear that the love for tennis is alive and thriving.

Whether you’re inspired by Wimbledon’s elite athletes or motivated by Rosa’s amazing comebacks, there’s no better time to take your tennis game to the next level. We invite you to join us at the academy, where you’ll receive personalized training, learn from top coaches, and become part of a vibrant community of players.

Throughout the week, the juniors from Better Tennis engaged in intensive training sessions under the guidance of their dedicated coaches. Our facilities, which include top-notch courts and comfortable accommodations, ensured that the team had everything they needed to focus solely on their development.

Tournament at the Rafa Nadal Academy

In addition to their training at the RA Tennis Academy, Martin Bartosch's team participated in a tournament organized by Global Tennis at the renowned Rafa Nadal Academy. This tournament presented a fantastic opportunity for the young athletes to test their skills in a competitive environment and gain valuable match experience.

The tournament was a resounding success, showcasing the high level of talent and dedication among the junior players. Competing at such a prestigious venue added an extra layer of excitement and motivation for the team.

Sparring Matches with RA Tennis Academy

One of the highlights of the visit was the series of sparring matches between the players from Better Tennis and our own students from the RA Tennis Academy. These matches were not just an opportunity for friendly competition but also a valuable learning experience for all involved. The young athletes displayed remarkable talent and sportsmanship, pushing each other to new heights with every rally.

The sparring sessions allowed players to test their skills against different styles and strategies, fostering an environment of mutual growth and camaraderie. It was evident that both teams benefited greatly from this exchange, gaining insights and experiences that will undoubtedly contribute to their future successes on the court.

A Special Visit from Wolfgang Thiem

As if the week wasn't already special enough, we were honored by a visit from Wolfgang Thiem, the father of Dominic Thiem, Austria's tennis star and former world number three. Wolfgang Thiem's presence added a layer of inspiration and prestige to the event. His insights and experiences in guiding a player to the top of the ATP rankings were invaluable to both the players and coaches.

Wolfgang Thiem took the time to interact with the young athletes, and the opportunity for a quick photo to close his visit.

A Heartfelt Thank You

We extend our deepest gratitude to Martin Bartosch and his staff for choosing the RA Tennis Academy as their training destination. Their professionalism, dedication, and enthusiasm made the week a resounding success. It was a privilege to host such a talented group and to witness firsthand the hard work and commitment that goes into nurturing the next generation of tennis stars.
